Our apparel design team works in a constantly-evolving high growth environment, where we balance nimble decisions with careful attention to every detail.
We’re changing the way clothes are made in the U.S. Kitsbow is one of the few apparel manufacturers in the U.S. utilizing lean manufacturing (aka Toyota Way methodology), which means we make clothes every day for our customers, often shipping nearly immediately. Our design team brings new styles to market in weeks, not months.
This is an opportunity for an insightful patternmaker to create patterns of our new styles, maintain our current styles, and work within the team as we prototype, sample, and test our innovative clothes. We use the best ingredients from around the world, and we strive for an amazing fit.
You will be both a player on the field as well as a coach, creating and maintaining patterns (player) and at the same time helping guide our design and production teams with best practices (coach).
Because we’re changing the world, we’re developing/improving our methodologies and software technology to support those methods, often simultaneously as we do our work. Developing best practices while using those practices at the same time can be challenging -- this is not for the faint of heart.
Location: We’re located in Old Fort, NC -- and we ride gravel and single track from the office. We practice “Wear Test Wednesdays” when we ride our bikes and test the products that we make… regardless of your skill level, everyone is welcome.
Compensation: Depending upon experience includes health benefits.
Hours: Full-time salaried (5-day week)
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your short description of why you’re interested, and what you would bring to our party.
A LinkedIn profile link would also be appropriate, and a PDF resume if you must.
We ship every day, direct from our production crew, and we need you to delight customers with perfect shipments.
You will be both a player on the field as well as a coach, keeping the trains running on time with all physical inventory, shipping, and receiving (player) and helping our young team develop best practices for inventory and shipping (coach).
