Excellent tights! Warm as a solo layer and also work well under waterproof trousers. Been wearing in temps down to -2deg for both cycle touring and some winter hikes. Brilliant!
Not as warm as I feared, which makes them perfect for spring riding! The only possible complaint/place for improvement is to make them just a titch higher waisted in the back.
A multi-tool for cooler temps!
I purchased these after reading a review about them in Adventure Cyclist. I hesitated a bit due to the price, but I'm happy I pulled the trigger. These work really well for cool weather hiking/mtb riding, and for cross country skiing. Here in Montana, they fit the bill. I'm 5'3 with a sturdy build, so I ordered large/short. I don't like super tight leggings that feel like sausage casings - these are comfy, warm and functional. I'll get years of use from them.
So luxurious...I'm wearing them now
These are absolutely the best tights I've ever worn. I have other tights for yoga, for running, for biking, for hiking which now seems crazy. The Tempest Merino Tight covers all activities including WFH (standing desk or sitting). I took them on vacation to Edisto Island State Park in South Carolina in January. I wore them for running three times and yoga twice and they performed throughout without sagging or stretching and, crazy I know, but without stinking. They are dreamy on the bike. I pair them with the Tsali short when riding for the perfect combo of comfort and coverage on late winter and early spring days in the woods. Recently, I joined a road/gravel ride when winds were gusting pretty hard (as they will do in March in western North Carolina) and they were perfect. I can't say that I don't notice wearing them, because they feel so dreamy against my skin that I often think of how cozy they feel. The waist band stays put and is higher in the back which is important to me. I have two pairs of Tempests and I will recommend them to all my friends.
Perfect for riding and other outdoor activities
I have worn these a few times riding and really loved the fit and functionality. I paired them with the Kitsbow liner shorts and these are one of those garments that you don’t need to fuss with, which is perfect when you are focused on the ride. I didn’t find the pocket to be very useful for rides, but absolutely love them when running, walking my pup, or running errands. I’m 5-9 and 158lbs and bought the large. The fit is perfect for biking and around town. I like a bit more support for running, so I would have sized down if that was my primary use.
