You know when you’ve reached your threshold, and need to keep your knees covered throughout the ride -- knee warmers will simply be left on, so why not have the security of coverage that won’t slip down. We’ve ensured that you have the best chamois available for long-ride comfort. The fabric itself is thoughtful and technical, so you can worry about the riding not the fit or the wicking.
The Coleman Valley Knicker length provides the same long ride support that the Coleman Valley shorts provide, while supporting the rider in cooler weather. If you are a committed user of bibs, and need the all-ride security of knee warmth, this is your gear. Usable under all Kitsbow shorts.
The Coleman Valley knicker exceeded my expectations all around upon arrival. The compressive material is very comfortable and the chamois is absolutely excellent. I wore these alone in temps around 40 degrees and a few days later under riding pants in the mid 20’s....great experience both times. Will definitely be buying the bib to wear once the weather here in MI gets a lil warmer. Kitsbow simply does it again, although I can’t say I’m surprised......been very happy with every piece of Kitsbow gear I own!
The bib is wonderful though it runs a bit smaller then the regular Coleman Valley bib. This has resulted in some bunching around the knees.
The original Coleman Valley bib shorts are my favorite bibs, for their straps and balance of compression and comfort. The knickers continue with those features and a great cut. The leg bands stay in place and flex well when riding, which many other knickers do not. The warmth is sufficient for medium to high intensity even at close to freezing temps.
The biggest hurdle when motivating myself to ride in cold weather is dealing with squeezing into the copious articles of clothing that make me feel constricted and exhausted before even touching my bike. The knicker bibs are surprisingly easy to switch into and fit in a way that feels warm and snug, but also nonrestrictive. The Kitsbow quality of the material also gives me the peace of mind that I will still be comfortable in them three hours into the ride.
Not only do they make me sound intelligent, they must have been designed by somebody intelligent too. The stitching is virtually seamless and everything just hugs the body perfectly. It’s the kind of base layer that makes me excited to get out on some chilly morning rides.
