Sometimes the opportunity to ride presents itself in cooler temps. So we decided to utilize this amazing material in our first long sleeve merino henley.
The bi-component knit construction of this merino wool uses a different yarn on either side of the fabric, creating the optimal hybrid for athletic endeavors and maximal comfort. Ultra-fine Merino wool next to the skin provides warmth even when wet; highly breathable, wool excels at moving moisture in a vapor state.
The outer synthetic fabric ensures perspiration dries quickly and adds durability. Temperature regulating features of wool allow it to comfortably be worn in any weather. The versatile fabric makes this a piece that can be worn alone or as a baselayer while mountain biking or during any athletic pursuit.
"It features a 3-snap henley style collar, merino wool/polyester blend for durability and odor control, and is flat stitched to keep chaffing and irritation at bay. The blend of fibers is woven so that the wool is next to skin, and the polyester layer is on the outside of the garment where it evaporates off more readily. It's a sweet shirt that's stylish enough to head to the bar with after a ride and not look like a dweeb or knock anyone over with B.O. thanks to the odor control of the Merino fibers."
"Kitsbow is a respected mountain bike apparel company that values style along with function. The Power Wool base layer will keep your outdoorsman warm and dry in a variety of conditions."
"Merino on the inside of this top bumps up the warmth on chilly days, and the fabric on the face spirits away moisture. It’s also insulating, despite the thin-as-a-T-shirt feel. The cut is a touch large, so size down if you plan on layering."
Gear is essential to any successful adventure. But the best gear is the stuff you forget you’re wearing because it’s working so damn well. Consider that achieved with my Escalator Merino Henley. Running, climbing, cycling, chilling, and everything in between are all primed for this piece. It’s now part of my essential kit as a foundational item, regardless of what I’m planning.
Incredible piece. Bought this for a winter trip down to Sedona. From the airport, to the trails and the Sundowner, this thing rocked. Paired perfectly with the Wind best for the morning roll outs, and was comfortable in temps up to the mid 60’s. I will be picking up additional colors for riding here in the Bay Area.
Great as a base layer or solo. Comfortable and top quality like the rest of the products by kitsbow.
I used this for the Rute del Jefe, a 125 mile race through southern Arizona. I was comfortable all-day with the temps ranging from 60 degrees in the midday to 35 after dark. I couldn't have asked for a better performing, better fitting layer than the Escalator.
I ordered the yellow size extra small. I was surprised that it had two gray seam stripes down one arm and on the other shoulder. The pictures did not convey that so they were misleading. The extra small fit next to skin. The size range was what I usually buy. Size up for a looser fit. I like the material and the Henley snaps. My vote would be for more vibrant colors and cleaner design without the unnecessary seams.
