Like riding naked, only better. A tough and technical ride short optimized with mesh panels for max airflow. Updated refinements include a built-in belt and auto-locking zip for a comfortable, perfect fit that will make this durable softshell short seem to disappear beneath you.
"The Kitsbow Ventilated V2 is the recently updated version of our previous Editors' Choice Award for trail and cross country riding, the Kitsbow A/M Ventilated, and the new version maintains that top step on the podium. Attention to detail and very thoughtful design make these shorts the best fitting and pedal friendly in our test selection."
The fabric is amazing. It breathes well, doesn't get heavy when saturated, and dries quickly. Seems to be durable too. I would prefer if the cut and waist-belt were like the origin shorts. The cut of these is a little looser, less tailored through the thigh and knee. And the metal belt buckle feels excessive and is annoying for the wash cycle. Either you remove the buckle every time it goes in the wash or it smacks and clacks around through the spin and dry cycles. Despite those issues, I'll take these over the origins in 80+ degree weather.
I’ve had these for about a year now and can’t say enough great things. These shorts are lightweight and vent well. The material is durable and I’ve found them to shed water quickly when caught in the rain. I love the tapered cut and length on my 6’3” frame. Perfect for mtb, gravel, and brewery rides. I own two pairs and have considered getting a third set as we come back into peak season.
Excellent fabric, tough but light. Fits true to size. Finish details are impeccable. Really nice trail shorts that’s well thought out
I've only gotten the chance to ride once so far with these and they were great. Good movement, comfortable, breathed well. Only negatives: could be a little more water resistant (I know it's always a tradeoff between that and breathability), and the tail of the buckle comes out sometimes. The latter is not a big deal. Be aware that this only has two rear-facing side pockets, but they're nicely sized, so they work great.
I love the new shorts. I must admit that I thought manmade fibre maybe too warm for the semi- tropics (Brisbane) but I thought I would give them a try out anyway. I am glad I did as they are just great for my early morning ride and they are well ventilated and cool. They also look a **** of a lot better than my old baggy shorts, so I do not look so daggy when ordering my flat white at the coffee shop after the ride. Only one small complaint, they do tend to ride down after a while on the bike. I like them so much I also wear them when off the bike, they work great at my Tai Chi classes.
