A Limited release of a Kitsbow Classic: Fog

If you're reading this, you are wired to the inside track. You're viewing a rare, Limited Edition Icon that only a few will get a chance to buy. When these are gone, they're gone.

And we've priced these the same as our regular Icon Shirts. There just aren't many of them.

And if you're in the market for even more color choices, we also suggest the Sentinel Granite and the Kern Granite. The Sentinel pairs well with a black shirt and pants for an urban look.

If you were lucky enough to have one of the first-run Fog Icons, you'll appreciate that in this updated version of these colors you'll find chamfered pockets flaps and cuffs, increased cuff openings to accommodate a watch, larger Schoeller®-shape 3XDRY abrasion panels, significant improvements to the articulation of the shoulder, as well as added reflectivity for night-time riding (nearly invisible in daytime).

And of course, like all of our Icon Shirts, Sewn in the USA by skilled craftspeople from authentic American-made Pendleton® wool. Constructed for a lifetime of adventure.

NOTE: If you had one of the older Icons, please note that the fit and the sizing has been updated. Please consult the size chart above or contact us before making any sizing decisions. We'd be happy to answer any question you've got.

"I first bought the Kitsbow Icon in 2014 and out of all my apparel, both on and off the bike, it’s become a staple. As soon as the temps drop, it becomes my go-to mountain bike or bike touring jacket. I’ve taken spills, experienced thrills and everything in between with it...My point is, the Kitsbow Icon is the best flannel I’ve ever owned and there’s nothing I’d change about it."

"Trust me, I’m not one to recommend a riding shirt that costs $195 unless it’s good. Really good. Hand on heart, I wore the Pendleton wool Icon every day for 9 weeks solid – often at high altitude – in Ecuador and Peru. I washed in once… and it still looks absolutely brand new. I’m a creature of habit; the Icon has become my go to shirt, whether on tour, riding trails, or in a coffee shop. "

Amazingly Versatile

I can wear this shirt for just about any occasion or event. Works great as a mid-layer while snowboarding, while lounging around the house, or going to a casual dinner. I like how the shoulders are designed to prevent constriction. Great product!!!

Badass Shirt

Prior to this shirt, I did not own a shirt that fit so well. Almost as though Kitsbow measured me directly for the XL. I'm 6'0" and 215 lbs with a 46" chest. I have trouble with fit with every company, save for Kitsbow. The quality is bomber and I've been living in it since I received it. I can move and stretch, as well as assume the aero position on my bike with absolutely no binding/pbunching of the material. I ordered another after one day of ownership. Way to go Kitsbow!

If you only want one...

I really enjoy this shirt. Out of the box, it has a great fit, classic styling (with some modern touches), and is quite comfortable. I tend to look for quality over quantity in my clothes, which is why I was willing to dish out the money for this shirt. It is definitely expensive. But, in my book, if I can have just this one flannel, that's preferable to having 3 different shirts that add up to the same cost. After some use, I like it even more. Its comfortable. The venting helps extend the use into slightly warmer temperatures. Rolling up the sleeves is easy. The scholler fabric at the cuffs, collar, shoulders, and elbows are already helping in shrug off some of the harder use this shirt sees. I wear this shirt at least 2 full days a week, and a few other times just in evenings and what not. After a couple months of this, a few nights camping, and a handful of bike rides, this shirt is close to needing a wash. Really just because of the campfire smell. All that to say, I think this is worth the considerable cost. It fits well. It looks good. It works well on the bike, in camp, at the brewery. There are thoughtful features. It all adds up to a shirt that I would be more than happy to (and have) wear for days on end. If you want to have just one flannel, I would have to recommend this one.

5th Icon for me.

You really only need 1. It will last a lifetime, style fit and function wise. My main use for the Icon is ski touring and climbing when it’s a bit chilly. Been to the top of the Howser spire in the Bugaboos, also to the office board room. Style for miles! When you put yours on, the price immediately becomes justified.

Very short term review addressing fit and comfort

I have been eyeing the Icon for at least two years now and never pulled the trigger due to the price despite what Cass @ said. It's a good review, go check it out. I had a chance to get the Icon at a slight discount and jumped on the chance. I picked up the Mendocino Blue color which is quite gorgeous and per usual, the build quality is superb. I'm 5'7" ~140lbs with a ~38" chest (slight athletic build) and after recently purchasing the Front Range sweater (XS, wanted a tighter fit) , the Livewire tee (M), and now the Icon (S), I've discovered that I'm probably right in middle of a mens S and M. Sadly, all long sleeve lengths have been too long when I'm off the bike. The Icon in a S seems like the best choice for my build because a M definitely would have been too long in the sleeves/torso and the XS might have been too tight in the body, but the sleeve length might have been fixed (I'm not gonna bother to find out) because the S has sleeves longer than I would like. The other surprise that happened was how scratchy the Icon felt when I first wore it. I'm VERY familiar with merino wool (I've got ~14 pieces from Ibex) and I've never felt something this scratchy, but I realize it's a different wool. HOWEVER, the scratchy feeling I had when I first wore it somehow......went away! I don't know/understand how that occurred, but it did and I would suggest to you to give the Icon a chance if you feel the same way after first trying it on. On the bike, the Icon's sleeves (not the Front Range sweater) are just where I'd want them to be
