The featherweight Wind Jacket fits into a jersey pocket but will keep you warm and weatherproofed when you’re stacking up those big mileage days. Version 2 updates include a feature so obvious, we can’t believe we didn’t think of it sooner: side zips for one-handed rear jersey pocket access so you can keep moving. We utilize a DWR-treated stretch Nylon to keep the moisture out and laser perforations under the arms to vent humidity from within. The Wind Jacket v2 will keep you safe with reflective hits on the back. Go faster, go farther, and don’t worry about the elements. We’ve got your back.
As others have mentioned, the side zippers to access your jersey pockets makes this piece work well on both road and dirt rides. The fit is great, hardly any wind-flapping - packs relatively small. Its not a bargain , in fact, it is one of the most expensive light jackets in my cycling clothing collection...but I turn to it often (side zippers!) If this is within your budget, you won't be disappointed with the quality.
The jacket has great features that are different than the first model but the overall design and make of the jacket is the same. It blocks the wind great and keeps you warm enough (winds onshore at 10-15 mph with temp 45-50 F). I like the zip flaps on the left and right side of the jacket because it allows access to your back jersey pockets and ventilation if needed.
I commute 20 miles/day in Seattle and will likely wear this every day between Nov-April. I run hot and this is just enough to cut the cool morning air/wind while not making me overheat. Water repellency is also excellent. It doesn't replace a raincoat, but it's sufficient for the typical PNW mist/rain (and it dries super quickly).
Great jacket! Love the side zippers
Even though it did not fit, shame on me, my wife loves the jacket. As with other items from Kitsbow, the build quality is top notch. At least I can try hers on and see when I am ready to order another XXL.
