The packable, breathable, wind-blocking, ultralight Wind Vest is your insurance plan for grey days and early starts. Version 2 updates include a feature so obvious, we can’t believe we didn’t think of it sooner: a side zip for one-handed rear jersey pocket access so you can keep moving. With a DWR-treated stretch Nylon in front and a mesh in back, you’ll stay warm and keep your cool under pressure while subtle reflective hits ensure your visibility. The 4.5 oz Wind Vest v2 is the perfect cycling contingency strategy; don’t leave home without it.
Right side zipper allows for easy access to jersey pockets
Fit is confusing, this has the same size chart for the Origin Jersey but fits smaller. The vest seems well made but it doesn’t fit me. I took a chance on the last chance clearance and didn’t win on this one.
It feels like vests fly under the radar. Don't make the mistake of overlooking this one. As a cyclist and runner, I have used this both on and off the bike, on the road and in the high alpine - often back to back. It is light enough to always justify packing, but burly enough to stand up to brushes against rock and even some light precip. My absolutely favorite feature is the ventilated mesh back - I can wear a pack without sweating through it, which is a constant issue. Sweet!
I've been wearing Kitsbow since meeting Charlie and Zander at Sea Otter back in 2012 or 2013. I remember being blown away at the quality, build, and aesthetic of their very first pair of shorts. I'm still wearing those A/M Shorts on every ride, and I've been adding new pieces to my collection ever since. My motto for gear is "Buy it right, buy it once." That philosophy allows me to spend a bit more on the right piece of gear - the one that's the best for the job that's going to last. Kitsbow fits the bill every time. The Wind Vest is my most recent purchase and it fits right into their long line of quality pieces of gear. I wear a Size Medium in just about everything (5' 9", 170lbs, wide shoulders), and this vest in Medium fits perfectly. The bright blue color accents are so awesome, as is the zipper opening for grabbing food from your jersey pockets. I've been wearing it on every ride this spring here in Bend, OR, where the weather has been 40-55 degrees. Over a long sleeved jersey, it's kept me warm in those temps - a tall order for such a lightweight piece of clothing. Nicely done, Kitsbow!
Awesome! Great comfort with a breath of fresh air from the ventilation in the vest. So comfortable!
I loved the color of this vest for a while, but I did not expect that it would do such a nice job on the fit, wind block, but actually repels water on light rain. This worked really well with my merino ride tee, arm warmers, and the vest. Perfect temperature control for a up and down 45 degree ride.
