This Shirt Sends It!
I ordered this version of the Icon because I think it’s the coolest version. That orange stitching on the pocket and the fox on the badge! I’m new to Kitsbow, having found the brand through an article online. I saw the shirt and thought, Wow! Is it the hype, is it the prestige (price!), was I hypnotized by the pattern? I had to have it and find out. And now that I do, I can tell you: it’s worth the price, hype and every bit of the accolades it receives (including mine). It fits like it was sewn onto me. It has vents that allow air to flow through it while riding. That ventilation alone makes this shirt worth every penny I paid for it. The wool is soft yet rugged and the pattern and colors are stunning. I will say this: order a size up. I normally wear a medium in women’s shirts and I ordered a large in this. I’m 5’8”, 160 with an athletic build. It fits me like a glove. Almost too well. Almost too small. If I order another one, I’m ordering the men’s Ikon. But I don’t usually like the way women’s shirts fit me. That’s just me. It’s tailored and I like a little more give. I buy clothes to last. I don’t have many pieces, so this is something I intend to keep until/if it falls apart. And honestly, I don’t think it ever will. It’s that well made. And damn, does it look good.
I live in this shirt
I bought my boyfriend an Icon several years ago, and it took him a year to take it out of the box and put it on because he thought it was “too nice.” Once he put it on, he wore it all the time! It’s a great looking wear anywhere shirt for anyone who appreciates well made things. I lusted after my own, and was so stoked when Kitsbow came out with a women’s cut. Now that I finally have my own, I live in it too. It’s exceptionally rugged and great for hanging out at camp, wearing at work on chilly days, wearing around the house or out to grab food. I get constant compliments and feel pulled together, even if I’ve just grabbed it out of my bike bag. It does run a little small. My bust is 36” but I found the small too tight in the chest and exchanged the small I initially ordered for a medium.
Worth the wait
I finally made the decision to invest in this flannel and was disappointed when I found out it was going to take 3 months to make but I finally received the shirt the other day and it is beautiful colors, well constructed and feels great on. It has been warm here in Asheville but it’s still the perfect weight with a T-shirt underneath. I wore it on a ride and my temperature was perfect. It was great for after ride hang in the parking lot, keeping me warm as my body temp was dropping. I’m so glad to have made the decision to buy the icon, just wish i hadn’t waited so long!
hands down the best shirt ever
can't recommend the Pendleton/Swift/Kitsbow collab enough. just gorgeous, and fits perfectly. I really appreciate that it's hand sewn here in North Carolina, and that Kitsbow are actively contributing to trails and outdoor access in the area. can't wait to visit the RIde House someday!
The Mendocino Blue is a Kitsbow Icon classic pattern that I've been longing for in a women's specific cut. The Umatilla Wool has a different feel than the softer Merino and ****** Wools of the Women's Icon - it is classic, rugged and ready to take on adventures of all kinds. The added Swift x Kitsbow details are a fun bonus to this Icon! Can't wait to pair this with the Swift x Kitsbow Anchor Pack and hit the trails in style!
