A well-designed mountain biking short, much like a well-designed trail, is born from a combination of passion and progression. The Origin short is the culmination of everything we’ve learned from five years of making uncompromising gear for real riders. We chose a unique Nylon woven fabric for its balance of breathability and durability, strategically placed pockets for riding position, and a ladder-locking adjustable waistband to dial in fit. Start with the Origin.
"The new Kitsbow Origin A/M short joined the ranks of favorites, thanks to a well thought out approach to the category, with a trim, fitted profile that shows a lot of attention was paid to the little things. But also importantly: pockets."
"When it comes to minimal, well-designed, tonal mountain bike clothing, one brand stands out above the rest: Kitsbow. The Petaluma, CA based brand is making some of the best mountain bike clothing on the market. Pieces like the Origin A/M short and the Trials Softshell waterproof jacket epitomize thoughtful design and have become staples in my mountain bike kit."
These shorts are obviously very nice, the construction and materials seem really great. The fit is not exactly what I expected. The waist is great (I ordered size M and they fit my 32" waist perfectly), but the legs are a little longer and a little tighter than what I'm used to. I have only worn them once on the bike, but I am going to try out the Adjustable V4 to see if I like the fit better.
I was really hoping that these shorts would meet the hype. I'm 5'8 with a 31 waist and bought a medium. Wearing a liner the initial fit was great if not a bit big in the waist which was easily fixed with the adjustable straps. During a 15 mile ride the shorts were very comfortable in the seat and legs. My major complaint was with the rise of the short being a bit long for me in the crotch wrapped over the nose of my saddle time and again. I know I'm between sizes in this particular short but for less than half the price I've bought shorts just as comfortable. Overall great short if you get the correct fit.
These really should be shown as a unisex short because they fit me better than women specific shorts. I have no hips and big Bike girl thighs and these shorts stay baggy on my hips and thighs and I can cinch them tight on my waist. They’re durable yet light weight and pockets big enough to stuff in my iPhone plus. Def made to shred in and be functional.
I’ve been wearing these shorts for over a year and they look like the day I got them. They are super durable and resistant to dirt and stains. I loved them so much I bought two pair.
I am a woman but wear a size small in these great shorts. They fit well and I like the adjustable waist that doesn't involve Velcro. The fit isn't too lose or too tight and the material holds up well.
