Let me preface this review by telling you that it took me a few YEARS to finally bite the bullet and order one up. Price was a big factor. It was $195 when I first got interested. That was way above my price range. Reading the glowing reviews and testimonials I knew this was a serious piece of clothing that should last decades. As time went by the price kept creeping up! When Kitsbow went to the built to order format I liked the fact that they were concerned about minimizing waste. (By this time the Icon cost $235.) I finally ordered it and received it 2 weeks ago. It took a while to get, probably due to the pandemic, but let me tell you that the construction, design and fit are top notch! I was a little concerned about the snaps, I thought they would not be as good as regular buttons, but I was wrong. They work very well and I could see them being easier to work when on the bike with gloves on. With all the Schoeller panels it looks like this shirt could take a beating out on the trail, but I almost feel like it's too nice of a shirt to take riding! The Articulated shoulder vents make mobility great and my giant Garmin watch fits easily under the cuff. Give me a bit more time to keep it nice like it is. I'm guessing I'll take it riding some day.
Love the details, quality fabric and craftsmanship. Love it!
So far I have liked the icon, I like the snap buttons and it feels like softer wool than a traditional pendleton wool shirt. So far I’ve used the shirt as a mid layer fly fishing and snowboarding-I’m sure it will be used on cool nights camping. I wasn’t real fond of waiting for 3 months to receive the shirt but it is a nice shirt so far. I haven’t seen any stitching starting to unthread and there is no flaws in the design of the shirt. The price point of it is on the high end, but I received a gift card as Christmas gift idea so it offset the cost, I will say even at the high price point, you can tell kitsbow emphasizes top quality construction of the shirt.
I love this shirt! I saw your piece about the guy who didn’t wash his icon, just shook it out, and wore it again. I will do that. Love my Icon. Thank you
This is truly my favorite shirt. I own three. Just waiting for Kitsbow to re-release a red color before I order a fourth. Fits great, keeps me warm. Love the snaps that you can open with one hand if you get hot. I crashed in one and ripped it up and they repaired it for free. You can wear it a lot and the wool doesn’t stink. And the best part might be the shoulder articulation. Looks good enough you can wear it on a work video call, and then jump on the bike right after.
