The Lory is the perfect long-sleeve for fall riding, and will be a great base layer in winter. Wool is simply pure magic; it keeps you cool enough if you start getting warm, and warm when the air gets chilly. The material is not too thick, and currently I'm wearing it on it's own, or with a wind vest over. I am 5'10" but have a fairly short torso. I am wearing a size medium, and it fits nicely. It will be perfect for a base layer as it's pretty form-fitting. The sleeve length is nice and long, too! But, if you want something slightly looser, I would size up.
The fabric and feel of this shirt are excellent, but it runs small and the fit is odd. I wear a small in the women's Icon shirt, but in this top, the small didn't fit at all. The small was too tight in the arms and torso, and the medium is even a bit short on me as well (I'm average height). I think the sleeves would be too long if I went to a large. The front of the shirt is short, maybe because it's a cycling cut, but it makes it awkward to wear off the bike. Photos are of me in a medium (5'5, 140lbs)
This shirt feels like a million bucks. The craftsmanship is beautiful. The fabrics are so soft, so thin, yet so warm. I love this. I hope they come out with more colors soon! Fits a bit tight in the chest. I'm 5'8, 150lbs, I needed a large.
I just received my new Lory top and I love it. The fabric is so soft. I chose to order one size larger than normal and I am happy with the results. My Lory has a loose fit and I am totally comfortable wearing a light layer underneath (for example, I can throw the Lory on over my yoga top and head to class). It's stylish enough to wear to work. The sleeves are long enough to work for biking. I can already see that I will need more than one Lory because it's becoming my go-to for nearly every purpose. Can't wait for new colors to be introduced.
I am SO excited to see that Kitsbow has made a long sleeve merino shirt for women. The shirt fits as expected, with a little bit of a tight squeeze around the elbow. I wanted to wear the shirt with more of a blousey feel, so I sized up from a small to a medium and found the arms were more comfortable, without much change in the body. Saying "Runs Small" for this reason alone. The fabric has a super soft feel on skin and the wool blend does an excellent job of wicking away moisture when sweating. Now I just want a crew neck option!
