HOW WE GET YOUR KITSBOW TO YOU
For all orders we use consumer-compostable packaging inside and out. Everything you receive from us can be buried in your backyard, where it will eventually return to the soil: the outer bag or box, the cushioning materials, and the translucent retail bag.
All of the tape, shipping labels, and other attached material is also consumer-compostable.
This costs us a bit more than conventional packaging, but we think it's worth it for the benefit of the Earth. We wish all retailers used similar packaging (we're happy to share our sources of where we buy it).
Ready To Ship
Some items are held in inventory for popular sizes, fits, and colors, and can ship immediately. This is obvious in your order acknowledgement email, shown at checkout. It also can easily be seen in the store while shopping if the ADD TO CART button is displayed without an estimate of "Made just for you" time required.
Availability is very specific to the size, fit, and color. You may want to experiment specifying different colors in your size to see what is already in stock, and what needs to be made for you.
When It Ships
If the size / fit / color you want isn't in inventory, we need to make it for you.
Estimated shipping time is very specific to the size, fit, and color. We may already have a color or size you want in stock. The estimate may be in days or weeks, and reflects the time we think it will take to make it just for you. It does not include the shipping time (that is determined by the carrier).
Note that this is an estimate, not a promise. Kitsbow uses lean manufacturing, which means that we can make you exactly the size, fit, and color you want -- but it is not strictly a first-come, first-served system.
For instance a short ordered in the dead of winter may take a few more days to schedule in production, since it is hugely inefficient to make a single pair of shorts -- we'll generally group together all of the shorts orders. An Icon shirt ordered in winter could take as little as a day or two to make, since we make them continuously in the colder weather seasons.
Shipping Delivery Time
For inventory we have in stock, orders received before 1:00PM Eastern Time will generally ship that same day.
You can track your order from the information provided in the Shipping Acknowledgement email. All product ships from our facility in Old Fort, North Carolina (near Asheville and Charlotte), and delivery time generally reflects your distance from us.
We ship every weekday that is not a U.S. holiday.
If one or more of your items is ready before all of your order, we will usually automatically split your order and send you what is available first.
You are very welcome to specify "Local Pickup" as your shipping method at check out. If you do this, you will receive an email that your order is ready!
Orders are available for pick up 7 days a week and 362 days a year
The Old Fort Ride House is open at 7:30AM every day, including most holidays and weekends to serve as your base camp when visiting the beautiful Pisgah National Forest and riding and hiking the Old Fort Gateway Trails.
The Ride House closes at 4:00pm each day, and it is also closed on just 3 holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
We're open for visitors on all the other holidays. If the Ride House is open, then you can pick up your Local Pickup.
Note that you must select Local Pickup at checkout. Orders not set up as Local Pickup cannot be picked up at the Ride House.
Always Free Domestic Shipping
We provide free ground shipping within the United States for any and all purchases. There is no minimum purchase amount, and there is no additional charge for splitting your shipment.
For an extra charge, we can provide expedited shipping (select at checkout). This is usually only appropriate for items that are already in inventory.
For our international friends, we offer UPS shipping worldwide. Rates are calculated and charged at checkout.
Duties, taxes, and any other fees are the responsibility of the recipient. These fees will be due either before or at the time of delivery. Kitsbow cannot assist in these matters.
If your country is not served by UPS, please contact us. It is unlikely we can help, but we will try.
Please note that we do not ship to Freight Forwarders under any circumstances.
If the item to be returned is returned within 30 Days of receipt (not purchase) we will generally provide a FREE shipping label for U.S. domestic shipping back to Kitsbow. Warranty issues and Crash repairs are also generally free return shipping, but check our detailed Returns policies here.
In any event, be sure to get in touch with us to make arrangements promptly in order to qualify for free return shipping.
Kitsbow does not provide free shipping for returns internationally.
Also Kitsbow will not be responsible for any duties or taxes incurred for shipping product to us by you.
