The key to this piece is the fabric that was developed for use by U.S. Special Forces with a simple objective: eliminate the need of adding or dropping layers during dynamic and static activities. We saw this as a solution to the cyclists layering problem. The fabric technology also allows for the transport of moisture without getting cold; so, unlike your puffy down jacket, this vest will keep you warm when moisture is involved.
We gave the shell of this piece a C6 DWR water resistant treatment. This allows water to bead up and keeps the surface of the piece from becoming saturated with moisture.
- Breathable insulation on front of torso for fast-forward activities with lighter fill on the back

Great cool riding addition
Great layer. I chose not to size up and buy my normal medium fit. Glad I did! I didn’t want a bulky vest on the bike. It is a slim fit but perfect over a chutes long sleeve in low 40s temps here in the northeast. The chutes breathes so it doesn’t get too funky under the vest and the vest keeps the core warm. The other nice thing about the slim fit is it fits nicely under my signature icon when i need more insulation. Very happy with the medium fit. For reference I am 5’11 and 170lbs. Just wanted to share my experience because most have said to size up. I wear medium in all kitsbow.
Great vest with small pockets.
This is a great vest. I have a couple other insulated cycling vests - specialized, Alpinestars - and I like this one the best. The fit and the amount of insulation are right on. You can also wear it somewhere "normal" and people won't look at you funny. Absolutely buy a size up, though. I'm an across-the-board small in cycling gear. I got the medium b/c of what I read. There's no way the small would've fit me. Could be a perfect vest, but the zippered pockets are so tiny! There are plenty of pockets, but I can't fit my phone in any of the ones that zip shut. My phone fits in the hand warmer pockets, but you don't have the security. I hope for everyone's sake that they start making the vest with at least one zippered pocket - either the inner chest or the back - that can fit a modern size phone. 5'7", 135lbs Medium fits
This was a gift for my husband. Now that he’s got it, he wears it all of the time. For cycling as well as around the house and out. It’s perfect for our cool summers, and he looks stylish. Definitely runs small, as noted in the sizing. He’s pretty much usually a Medium, and since I was shooting for a cycling vest, I thought getting a Medium would work. But it’s just a bit too tight across his chest (he’s slender, but maybe has a broad chest?), so we exchanged for a Large, which is perfect and now he wears it over his flannel shirts as well. Thanks for always having spot-on gear that make for super special gifts. Performance wear.
Pretty bomber vest!
This vest stops a cold wind flat. It is perfect for chilly mornings or when a cold wind is blowing, but you don’t want a full jacket. The sizing is 1 size smaller than any other Kitsbow piece. I am 5’9” and wear a large in pretty much every piece of outer wear I own. The XL is perfect. Nice soft collar, aero fit and really good in inclement weather. I life to wear with the Henley or Icon depending on the temperature.
Awesome vest, does a good job at temperature management, just as claimed. I went for a size up for a looser fit. The collar is so comfy and love the magnetic fastening. I wish the zipper was a bit beefier and could zip both ways tho. Also as mentioned in other reviews a bigger back pocket would be a great improvement.
