I just finished a 180 mile bike pack in Idaho. There was frost and ice in the morning and reasonably warm riding in the afternoons. We had a couple of small town stops for ice cream - so we had to look good. The Escalator Merino Henley handled it all in stride. Warm in the morning and cool in the afternoon, while still having plenty of style for the town visits. Truly a great combination of materials and weave to insulate, wick moisture and stay fresh throughout the trip. Highly recommend for shoulder season riding.
These are great and well crafted. The snaps are super functional and provide nice satisfying click when closing or opening. The fit is spot on and I wear these daily as they do a good job regulating body temp and keep me warm but not hot.
Normally I like my riding clothes to be for riding only, hiking clothes for hiking, but this shirt is likely to have many roles.
I live in the California Bay Area and this time of year the weather is all over the place. Some days it’s still cold and windy, next day high 70’s, low 80’s. I have had the Escalator Merino Henley for only a month or so, but becoming my favorite for just about everything. Great as a base layer on cold mornings, perfect by itself as things warm up a bit. Perfect to wear after the ride sharing a pint at the brewery (COVID protocols observed)! Quality is high and what you would expect from Kitsbow... you get what you pay for.
It was a chilly 40ish degrees and this shirt with a thin baselayer was all I needed for a trail ride. Combined with the Haskell pants my temp was perfect and I was never cold or sweaty on the ride! The green color is pretty dope too. It did run a little small and I had to get an XL (I can wear either depending on brands and fit).
