Legit! Even better
Great pants! My reg Haskels are a bit more loose at the waist, but these will stretch perfectly I gather (30 in both, I wear 31 waist jean.. .would not recommend sizing up) UPDATE- yup, one evening of wear and waist is perfect and has some stretch . Can't imagine ever wanting to take these off . Goal is to keep them clean for dress up, those full body work zooms, and date night. But in time they'll get stained and will make primo riding pants. The grey is darker than looks online, in a great way. Kitsbow killed it with these
The riding pants I've wanted!
I was looking for a winter alternative for those rides where I wasn't feeling the tights/bibs for mountain biking...this is it! The original Haskell Pant fit was a little too loose for me, this tapered fit is exactly what I was looking for. They fit more like the slim-fit pants/jeans I already own, but have all of the cycling features that make this my new go-to. The phone pocket fits my XL sized phone perfectly and is on the right spot below and back of the hip; although beware it would take the brunt of a fall to the right side. I've tried them on a 35 degree + windy ride in the woods and a 42 degree and calm day so far. Cycling shorts fit perfectly underneath and the length/waist was spot on. The fit is slim enough that it doesn't catch the chain or saddle when riding, with or without using the cuff snap. Feels functionally close to wearing winter tights, but casual enough to wear anywhere after a ride. I think anything above 45-50 degrees might be too warm given the heavier weight material, but with a pair of long johns underneath I'm thinking it'll go down to the 20 degree days of winter we'll get here in PA. The only suggestion I would make is for an adjustable waistband. And maybe a lightweight-tapered fit version too. Otherwise, these are perfect...trying to justify another pair if more colors are offered.
Finally a great fit!
I've been a fan of the Haskell pants for a few years now. The one issue I had was that they were a bit too roomy when it came to using them in a business casual way. The new tapered fit nails that and then some. This new fit actually feels better on the bike as well as looking awesome in the office. Whoever adjusted the rise in the front deserves a raise or a big high five! Sitting on the bike, at the desk, or at the local brewery is 100% more comfortable! Thank you once again, Kitsbow, for taking an awesome product and making it better and more functional.
Just what I wanted...
I've owned the original Haskells since they were introduced, and they still look new despite rides, hikes, vacation travel, and business meetings. But I already love these more -- perfect fit at the calf so I don't need to even use the snap to keep the leg from touching the crank or chain. Slim through the thigh, with just the right stretch at my quads. My wife thinks I look better, too, so that's a plus (I'll take all the help I can get). You really hit it out of the park with these, I got one of each color... and can't wait for more color choice, I'll get those too!
