    Best shorts you can buy?

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I'm guessing that some of you out there are thinking "why would anyone buy a pair of $265 shorts".  Maybe this can help. For several years I have been on a mission to only purchase clothes that can be worn for multiple sports and function well being worn in daily life without screaming "I ride bikes".   This is what lead me to Kitsbow in the first place, and my first purchase was a previous version of the Masterlink called the Adjustable Shorts V4 which I scored on sale at an LBS.  I questioned myself in spending $180 on a pair of shorts with no liner.  However, with lots of bike rides and even more use, they quickly became my favorite pair of shorts.  Not my favorite pair of bike shorts, but favorite pair of shorts, period.  Soft, stretchy, comfy but fitted, not too long, not too short, and almost dressy looking for wearing around town. Also the back/side pockets are positioned perfectly.  That led me to ponying up for the current Masterlink in Black. For the most part my comments above apply to the Masterlink, but there are downsides and hence the 4 stars instead of 5: 1) on long and really sweaty (or rainy) rides the Schoeller fabric becomes soggy and saggy (if you are a parent, think soggy diaper) and in my experience it is not quick to dry even in a dry climate . 2) for my taste they could be about an inch shorter and a little more tapered at the knee (probably made like that for knee pads). 3) The crotch snags on the front of the saddle more with these than other shorts. 4) The Price: even though these are probably the nicest riding shorts money can buy, your money can buy many other shorts and a nice liner with enough spare change to buy yourself and some friends a beer.  Kitsbow I have some other recommendations to improve them if you are interested.

    Masterlink Short

Overall, excellent. Belt locks very well. Pockets well placed. My only suggestion would be to place a closure just above the zipper; a flimsy snap just off to the side of the zipper at the top seems inconsistent with the overall quality of the rest of the shorts.

    Excelent Shorts

all I can say is that this is the best pair of shorts I own! forget everyone else. My biggest complaint is that you always run out of stock and it takes you ages to make more. I was lucky to get another pair from the recently released batch. but want to buy more! Hope it does not take you guys 6 months to whip another batch.

    Simply the BEST!

My favorite short, period. Everything is dialed from the feel of the fabric, to the stellar fidlock belt, to the well placed pockets. I would order another pair in the other colorways if they were still available in my size.

Like the title says… These shorts are outstanding. Well constructed with the biker in mind, comfortable, breathable, and just generally of that great Kitsbow quality.
