I owe Kitsbow an updated review. I bought one last year, and returned it because it was a bit itchy and too tight in the shoulders. I figured I'd try one again in a size up. Winner--it's excellent, softened just enough with wear and a wash, and fits superbly. I just got my second one. I'm 5'10", 185#, 43.5" chest, 32" waist, so a bit thick. The size large was too tight in the shoulders and chest. An XL fits great--it's a little long in the sleeves and body, but fits my upper body perfectly without being baggy in the torso. I also bought a large in the relaxed fit, but it did not fit nearly as well. Fit is subjective, but here's my input: if you're skinny, order your regular size. If you're muscular, order up a size. This shirt is the only XL I own. I still wish they offered merino in the men's version, but the regular wool softened with wear and a wash (in contrast to other non-merino wool I've tried). I found it itchy at first, but no longer notice it at all. Color--the Sentinel Granite is just fantastic. It's far nicer than the images suggest--in real life, it is green with flecks of blue. It really does look exactly like a piece of granite rock. Quality--my Sentinel Granite one had some noticeable stitching errors and numerous loose threads. I kept it because I loved the color and fit, and I think this was a previously-made copy with limited fabric so I couldn't order another. Fast-forward to today. I just received my Swift/Mendocino version and holy cow. It's a work of art. Their marketing effort about quality is no joke--it's brilliantly made. Mine showed up today with the initials of no less than (10) employees for QC. I suspect the Icons being made right now are the highest quality ever. I've ridden in it a few times, but it's better for daily wear as a light jacket. It's a wool shirt--but the ones they're producing right now are really, really well-made. I was wrong the first time around--these things truly do live up to the hype.
Just perfect! Thanks for your work!
I'm so glad I got the icon shirt-it is as close as bespoke as you can get. Beautifully made, fits great and gets lots of compliments.
I was not sure if I should go for the xs or s. I shared my measurements and they gave me detailed measurements for chest, shoulders, waist, shirt length collar to hem and sleeve length. They suggested the Small and it fits great. I can wear just a base layer or a base layer and a micro puff insulation vest under it on colder days, and it fits me great. I love the fabric feel. It is a sturdy, but medium to thin thickness of wool. Definitely a shirt weight, not a jacket weight wool. I have had it for about two weeks, and have worn it half a dozen days. So far it feels rock solid.
Great shirt, jacket, layer. A new go to.
