Made in NC quality and attention to detail! This thing is versatile enough to rock on and off the bike, and has managed to stay fresh even with very little washing. Great color selection as well!
The Signature fit in Large fit at 190lbs and I would guess it would be perfect at 185 lbs. I'm just under 6'1" and wear 42R jacket. I usually wear a merino base layer under it and feel it is best for rides in the 5-15C range. The wool is enough to cut the wind on a fast decent but still breathes better than any hardshell. I've hit light showers and kept comfortable for 30-45 mins. The downsides are weight and packability, but the synthetic tops that do that well don't look like this beauty and usually hold odours more than wool. Add in the fact that this doesn't look odd off the bike, and you can see why so many say they live in this shirt. About to buy my second one. Runs true to size.
The shirt feels like a bespoke piece of my wardrobe that I'll have for a very long time. Fit and function are completely dialed. Feels like it's built to heirloom quality standards. I've worn it nearly every day since it arrived a few weeks ago. I hemmed and hawed on purchasing one (obviously, quality ain't cheap), and my only regret is not getting this sooner.
I appreciate everything about this flannel - the material used, the fit, the colors and patterns - and especially that it's made in the USA. Perfect for daily wear at the bike shop and perfect for the shop ride after work. Super happy with my decision to buy it - so much so that I grabbed more than one. Thanks, Kitsbow, for making such an awesome piece.
If you just want a wool shirt for lounging around, you can spend 1/2 to 2/3rds of the money to get something decent, and then spend the rest of your cash on beer. If you want a wool shirt with MUSA quality, impeccable style, and enough thoughtful technical features to make it your "go to" garment for pretty much any activity imaginable (including lounging around), then order an Icon. Once you see it, examine it, and wear it, you will realize that the price is fair. My favorite feature is the trim under the pocket flaps; if Kitsbow nailed THAT detail, you know they thought of everything else, too.
