The key to this piece is the fabric. This fabric was developed for use by U.S. Special Forces with a simple objective: eliminate the need of adding or dropping layers during dynamic and static activities.

The fabric technology also allows for the transport of moisture without getting cold; so, unlike your puffy down jacket, this jacket will keep you warm when moisture is involved... or inevitable.

* Garment fit is small. If in doubt, size up. If you wear a Medium Icon, you might want to size up to a Large Vertigo Jacket.

Our crew often rides hard and we are here for you when things go awry. If you crash and trash your Kitsbow, get in touch with us.

If it can be repaired, we'll do that for a reasonable charge. If it can't be repaired (if you were really ripping it), we'll figure out a way to get you back on your bike wearing Kitsbow anyway. Just get in touch. The same policy applies to typical wear and tear: we'll repair it for a reasonable charge (if it can be repaired) or get you back into Kitsbow some other way if it cannot be repaired.

So far so good

I love it and it fits well but I haven’t gone for a ride in it yet. I am a 5’4” woman 115 pounds and bought the men’s XS size.

Best Jacket

I sized up in this piece. Warmth is important to me, but not at the cost of bulky clothing. I love the fit and function of this jacket. I can wear it in different climates, and it layers well.

Quickly replacing my Icon as my favorite piece

I really dig this jacket. I have an Icon and I was wearing it pretty much every day in some capacity. I finally pulled the trigger on the Vertigo, after eyeing it for the better part of a year. I am quite happy I did. It's incredibly comfortable in a vast array of weather and activities. Sizing on it is pretty spot on for me. This jacket is designed to be worn as a single layer and not really part of a layered solution. With that in mind the sizing follows the Icon and all other Kitsbow garments. The lining is soft and great for next to skin. The cuffs have a nice knit detail that keeps the warm air in, but the shell material fits loose for a more relaxed aesthetic. Plenty of pockets (2 breast pockets for small items, one inside pocket on the left can fit a wallet and a rear outer zippered pocket can hold an iPhone or keys, finally there's two hand warmer pockets without closure) for storage and hand warming. I also really appreciate the details of abrasion resistant fabric on the elbows to make sure I am wearing it for the long haul. Thanks Kitsbow for another classic piece of gear.

Another Kitsbow Classic

The Vertigo is another Kitsbow garment that goes with me everywhere. It's emblematic of what I love so much about this company - garments that go from trail to table, performing and looking top notch in any setting. I LOVE this jacket - critical notes below notwithstanding. Off the bike, the Vertigo is versatile across a wide variety of temperatures, and looks great as a casual item (see below for some little nits about the fit). On the bike, it's a must-have item on the coldest rides, but gets warm quickly. On most rides here in the middle of the country, the Vertigo is an indulgence when I can circle back to the car to layer down once I'm good and warm. (The jacket is bit too large to be packed into a pocket or saddlebag once you warm up.) Most importantly, it will be a critical addition to my bikepacking arsenal for cold mornings. None of this is to say that the garment is perfect. There are a few flaws which are frustrating for how obvious they are, but not fatal to my absolute love for this jacket. The lack of a bottom button is hard to forgive - it would give the jacket significant additional off-the-bike warmth. The fit of the jacket also falls within a recurring criticism I have of some of the very best Kitsbow items. The armholes are high and the chest is aggressively tight, but then the body is incongruously boxy. For anyone with a flat-ish stomach who can also knock out more than six pull-ups or twelve push-ups (guess I'm bragging now), the fit of some Kitsbow garments can be a poke in the eye. The Vertigo is one of those garments. The chest is tight enough to restrict arm movement in a sport that is practiced with the arms forward, but sizing up would yield a torso size that I could not achieve without significantly upping my tolerance for post-ride indulgences at the pub. Finally, the front is a bit too short. A touch of extra length would not interfere with performance on the bike and would give the style off the bike a bit of an upgrade. (It would also help the jacket better sync with the Icon, which falls significantly longer than the Vertigo - right now, wearing the two together creates the slightest "fat guy in a little suit" look.)

Super Stoked!

Word class garment. Toasty. Does not stretch. I am 6’2” 190-195lbs. and XL fits spot on. Large was too small. I live by the ocean and I wear this piece with short sleeve underneath. Super stoked with the Vertigo!
